I was watching Dr. Oz this morning and they were talking about self-breast exams and they were using a mannequin torso for the demo. I don’t understand the mentality that believes the nipple on a medical dummy had to be covered. I mean – what’s up with that?

I can watch Daffy Duck getting his face blown off or bloody gun battles on television but a nipple is considered verboten? So basically we’re telling kids that blood and gore is all good and women’s bodies are dirty and should be hidden.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Certainly doesn’t make any sense to me, not one little bit.. This is something that saves womens and mens (yes men can and do get breast cancer) lives and they’re worried about showing a nipple! The nipple is often the first place where changes take place ie pucked or pulled or suddenly invert.!!!!!! Just shows where some peoples priorities are, for goodness sake it’s women doing the test on themselves do they think we cover our nipples with plasters all the time.

Anyway on a lighter note I’m new here I’ve read the Jane Porter series….wow!
