Snow Day Book Giveaway!!
Posted by admin on February 7, 2010|
Kissing Cowboy, Available 2/9/2010 |
A foot of snow was dumped on us in Central Ohio and I spent many hours yesterday helping some of my neighbors get dug out. I live in an older neighborhood and most of my neighbors are over fifty so I figured I could use the exercise. I will be giving away a slew of ebooks over the next two days so keep checking back. |

I’d love to see that, J.C.! I understand completely. There has to be three feet of snow on the ground here in Central Ontario and my mini-labradoodle, Meg, disappears now and then when she bounds off the back deck.
As for my favorite stuck-in-the-house activity when the snow is coming down, I just put a nice chicken stew on to simmer, pour a glass of wine, and open a book. A new J.C. Wilder is a good choice.
I must get acquainted with your men of S.W.A.T.
See you at RT?
Dee
I have to say that cowboy has a great chest!
fav stuck-in-the-house activities – old movies, good books and making really cool jewelry. can I just stay home for the next week?
Last winter we all here in Seattle we were stuck in our houses for 2 weeks. (Our mental giant of a mayor thought that salting the roads would be bad for the sound so he refused to put anything on the roads.) As for my favorite stuck-in-the-house activity it usually is either reading or watching movies. Last winter though I made the mistake of watching the shinning. Not a good horror flick to watch when you’re stuck inside beacuse of the snow.
Dee – it’s hard to argue with you since you live somewhere just south of the Artic circle.
Kay – of course you can stay home all week! Just tell your boss I said so.
Laura – Oh my, Really?? Two weeks? I hope you vote your mayor out of office. The Shining – LOL!! Love that movie. No one plays psycho better than Nicholson. He has those Helter-Skelter eyes.
My favorite stuck in the house activity would have to be baking. I love to bake. I love the smell of fresh baked brownies and cookies.
Oh great…now I’m hungry. LOL!
I enjoy baking and cooking. Today I’m going to make a Shaker Lemon Pie. This recipe uses the entire lemon, rind, pith and all. Should be interesting.
For a change we got lucky in Michigan, while you got the snow. I hope you get dug out soon.
My favorite stuck-in-the-house activity is kicking back and READING a hot story!!!
Congrats on your fantastic sounding “Kissing Cowboy” release tomorrow. Your “Men of S.W.A.T.” series looks intriguing too.
Sandie
My favorite stuck-in-the-house WITH power is watching The Goonies or Ghostbuster movies and having popcorn and hot chocolate.
Favorite stuck-in-the-house WITHOUT power is working on a puzzle unless of course its too dark. Then I might as well bundle up and o to sleep.
I’m so excited to see another Men of S.W.A.T book. I loved the first two and have always wanted more of them. They are so fantastic.
Hey, J.C.! You’re dug out just in time for the next round tonight/tomorrow! You know, last year I bitched about what an alarmist Jym Ganahl is and we were pounded w/a big storm – I’m biting my tongue this year. The weather Gods evidently love Jym and don’t take dissing him lightly.
My favorite thing to do when I’m snowed in is to bake. Yesterday I made four loaves of banana bread, a pan of cream cheese topped brownies (not as good as it sounds, sadly) and taco dip. With my mother still mending from her broken knee, I can’t be totally snowbound – still have to check on her and make sure she stays fed.
How’s Libby? Looks like I’ll have to miss RAD this year, which would make me incredibly sad but we’re going to Kent to take college daughter to dinner for Val. Day, so I can’t complain too much! Watch yourself on the snow and ice.
My favorite stuck in the house activities are reading(at night) and making jewelry (daytime). Also love to bake chocolate chip cookies and then eat them with a big glass of cold milk while reading a good book.
Mmm… Favorite stuck in the house activity–reading something fabulous off the TBR (or maybe a good re-read) while a pot of something delicious (chili? soup? stew?) simmers on the stove. Take care, and stay warm!
Hi JC, haven’t had a chance to start this series yet, and would love to, all three stories have my favorite kind of heroes.
When I get stuck in the house I love to read, work on my kid’s scrapbooks and bake sweets, usually cookies, brownies and cake.
Hey Sandie! (waving)
Brandy W. – OMG, I love Goonies, too! I watched it the other night on Netflix. Thanks for the compliment about the series, I’m working on the sequel, Saving Ranger now.
Laurie!! I just heard we were getting more snow. I’m barely dug out as it is. You and your baking. Your PB fudge is DE-vine. Last time I tried to make it I had PB sauce on my hands. RAD – I won’t be there either, still keeping an eye on Mom from her last hospital visit.
Nancy – I make jewelry too.
Cathy M – hey girl. Isn’t it funny how we all enjoy baking. LOL!
My favorite stuck in the house activity is actually 2 things. I like to either bake something chocolate like brownies or chocolate cake or even fondue and then re-read a really good book or read something new from my tbr pile or if I’m in the mood to watch movies, I like to make a big bowl of popcorn and throw in a regular size bag of plain M&M’s or Reeses Pieces and eat it while I watch a couple of movies. Of course if we lose power then I really don’t like to do anything at all except huddle beneath my blankets.
puzzle books thanks
Our snow is coming tonight and tomorrow 8-12″ of it. My fave inside activity is reading and playing with my 2 wacky springer spaniels
As I live in the South, my stuck in the house would be on rainy days. Reading, reading, and more reading.
Mandy – you sound like a woman with a plan for any contingency.
Mindy – I’m not a puzzle person but I used to love crosswords. I tried sudoku and it made my wittle brain hurt too much.
Scottsgal – we’re getting hammered again. They’re calling for another 8 inches on the 12 we already have. thank goodness I loves me some SNOW.
Andrea – I love nothng better than to curl up with a book with its rainy out. Sheer heaven!
