Loving Ranger Cover!! WOOT!

Posted by admin on July 22, 2010

Coming September 7, 2010

Fourteen years of friendship, it all comes down to this…

Sissy Kolchek is a smart-mouthed waitress with a southern accent that’s thicker than honey and a life that isn’t nearly as exciting as some people think. As the daughter of the town tramp (?), she’s cynical about men, relationships and anything marked ‘one size fits all’. Beneath her wisecracks is a woman who secretly longs for a family and a place where she belongs.

Jason ‘Ranger’ Diver is an undercover cop who has seen the dark side of love and wants nothing to do with it. With his chaotic lifestyle, he hasn’t the time nor the inclination to become involved with only one woman especially not his friend, Sissy. He’d fantasized about since high school and when they kissed, she’d rocked his world. Jace is captivated by the woman she’s become and as their relationship grows he finds himself torn the biggest case of his career and the love of a good woman.

Warning: Copious amounts of hot lovin’, random bad guys wrecking havoc, a goat named Casper, more sexy cops than you can shake your nightstick at and the deliberate destruction of the English language.

Thank you, Scott Carpenter!!!

Weight Loss Wednesday…on a Saturday!

Posted by jcwilder on March 13, 2010

This has been one of those weeks where I want to get a do over – weight loss wise at least. I gained 3.5 pounds in about five days. Ugh. Back in January my GYN gave me a prescription for a hormone based medication but I didn’t start taking it until March 1st. (I know, TMI! <g>) About 3 days in I was eating everything I saw! No matter what I did I felt like I was ravenous. High fiber, still hungry. High protein, didn’t faze me. High carbs…nada.

I’ve pretty much kicked sugar because it is kryptonite to my species and I was craving sugar so bad I felt like a drug addict. It was horrible and I was so frustrated. Needless to say I kicked those pills to the curb! Thanks, Dr. Anita but no thanks.

So I’m back on the bandwagon and hope to have those 3.5 pounds off soon. (crossing fingers)

Then, if that wasn’t enough fun and games, my right foot is giving me fits. I think it’s probably arthritis (oh yeah!) so I’ve been kicking back and keeping it up. Boy – when I hit 43 its been a downhill slide since then. <g>

But some good news – I wrote 19k in four days on the next Men of SWAT title. I can’t complain about that. Woot!

Kissing Cowboy Excerpt!

Posted by admin on February 8, 2010

Coming February 9, 2010

   Payton Whittier, sex goddess.
Jeff admired the sway of her hips and her easy stride as he followed her through the parking lot. Already he was regretting the impulse that drove him to approach her. What was he going to say? Do you need a loan to buy the rest of your skirt?
It was a rare occasion when he found himself without words. And, unfortunately, this was one of those times.
The sexy sway of her hips kept his gaze locked on her backside. She had an ass that inspired dirty, nasty thoughts. When she’d leaned over the pool table that rear of hers jutted out at the perfect angle and height to take her from behind. Round and plump, it would be easy to sidle up behind her and press his cock into those lush cheeks.
    Pip staggered. “Damn it.”
“Did you hurt yourself?” Sliding an arm around her waist, he helped her regain her balance.
“No, just being graceful as usual,” she muttered.
“Guess we should’ve taken the long way around through the grass.”
A slight hum was her only answer.
Continuing on, he noticed how rigid she held herself. What would she do now? Push him away or accept his help over the gravel? To his surprise she relaxed into him, anchoring her arm around his waist. Even though she was six inches shorter than he, they walked together as if they’d been doing it for years. Naturally falling into step together, there was no hesitation, no bumping of hips or struggling to keep in rhythm. It was effortless.
Her scent, an intriguing mix of a delicate floral and warm female flesh, wrapped itself around him like a winter coat. Being this close to her, feeling the soft weight of her breast and the plush curve of her hip against his side served to confirm what he already knew.
   He wanted her badly.
Even though it was close to midnight, the parking lot was well lit. Maybe too well. He glanced at the expanding lump behind his zipper. If he was lucky she wouldn’t realize his cock was giving her a standing ovation.
Reaching the edge of the lot, they walked into the grass toward a small picnic area. He guided her toward an old picnic table sheltered by the droopy branches of a weeping willow. The dense branches gave the illusion of privacy, and he was pathetically grateful for the shadows that hid his, ahem, enthusiasm, to see her again.
“It’s beautiful out here,” she said.
“You’re kidding, right?” He nodded toward the bar. “With that noise?”
“Well—” she shrugged, “—if you can tune out the music then yes, it’s lovely.” Tipping her head back, her silken curls tumbled over her shoulders. “I’d forgotten how many stars were up there.”
“There’re no stars in Chicago?” he teased.
She flashed him a smile. “Too much light pollution. You have to go way outside the city to see stars like this.”
When they reached the table he released her, surprised at his reluctance to do so. Instead of sitting on the bench she headed for one end and settled herself on top of the table. When she crossed those gorgeous legs, he forced himself to look away.
“It’s been a while, Pip.” Even as he spoke he was telling himself to shut up. Could he be just a little more lame? Maybe next he’d ask about the weather.
   “Nine years.”
Standing in the darkness staring out over the lake, he had nothing to say in response. Scrambling for something, anything, she spoke before he could form a sentence.
   “Cowboy.”
In her soft, familiar voice his nickname became a siren’s call. He could no more avoid turning around than taking his next breath.

She’s a woman with a plan…

From childhood, Payton ‘Pip’ Whittier has loved Jeff ‘Cowboy’ Diver. Even after he publicly humiliated her and forced her to leave town, he’s the one man she can’t erase from her heart. Nine years have passed and Pip has returned to the scene of the crime, her hometown of Haven, Ohio. This time, she’s determined to rid her system of Cowboy, once and for all.

He’s a man determined to thwart her every move…

When Cowboy sees Pip at the local bar, he’s floored by the changes in his one-time best friend. The shy, sweet girl has been replaced with a sexy-as-hell woman in red stilettos. Years ago they’d shared a tender moment, one that changed irrevocably their lives. This is his one chance to convince her to give him one more—even if it means his heart could be crushed under her lethal high heels.

Warning:  This book contains the lethal misuse of a pool cue, shenanigans of a sexual nature in the back of a pickup truck, a good girl gone bad and a hero who packs some serious heat – hoo-AH!
